Bio:
Wanda Filer, MD MBA FAAFP is a nationally recognized health and business professional with 30 years of diverse leadership, advocacy, communications and clinical experience. She is Chief Medical Officer for VaxCare, an Orlando based company using innovative business models and proprietary technology to improve immunization rates in practices and health systems. She has the distinction of having served as the first Physician General of Pennsylvania under Gov. Tom Ridge (Harrisburg, PA) and 2015-16 President/ 2016-17 Board Chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians (Leawood, KS).
She has served on numerous boards for both nonprofit and for profit organizations. Currently she serves on the Board of Directors of Traditions Bank (York, PA), including Chair of Audit committee. She serves on the board of Telligen (Des Moines,IA), a population health ESOP.
Dr. Filer has worked extensively on issues related to interpersonal violence, adverse childhood experiences, vaccine uptake and other public health goals. She appeared for 18 years on NBC/WGAL TV (Lancaster, PA) and is extensively quoted in national media(Business Week, NYT, Forbes, WSJ, Politco, The Hill, etc) as well as NPR/AllThings Considered, Dr. Oz and others. She spent 30+ years in clinical practice in York,PA and now resides in Orlando, FL.
She received her MD degree from Hahnemann University (Philadelphia) and completed her Family Medicine residency in New Jersey. She received her MBA from Pennsylvania State University.
