Bio:
Rene F. Najera started as a medical technologist working clinically in a hospital laboratory setting before obtaininghis MPH from George Washington University and then his Doctorate in Public Health from the Johns HopkinsBloomberg School of Public Health. Rene previously worked at the Maryland Department of Health, at the AnneArundel County (Maryland) Health Department, and at the Fairfax County (Virginia) Health Department as anepidemiologist. He also worked as a consulting epidemiologist during the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) response to the Zika epidemic in Puerto Rico. He currently is the Stanley and Susan Plotkin Chair for Public Health at the College ofPhysicians of Philadelphia, overseeing the public health initiatives by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, andserving as editor of the History of Vaccines project.
