Bio:
Dr. Michael Anderson has served in a number of important health care and policy leadership roles: PICU Medical Director, Chief Medical Officer, Children’s Hospital President, Professor of Pediatrics, and Senior Advisor for the Federal COVID response.
Dr. Anderson received his Bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University, his MD from Case Western Reserve, and his MBA in Health Care from Kent State University. He spent the majority of his career as a Pediatric Intensivist and Health Care Administrator at Case Western Reserve and UH/Rainbow Babies and Children’s in Cleveland, serving as Chief Medical Officer for the 15 hospital UH system from 2008 to 2016.
Dr. Anderson served as the inaugural President of UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals from 2016 to 2020, where he focused on program integration, leadership recruitment, and novel program development. At the start of the pandemic, Dr Anderson was recruited to join Operation Warp Speed as a senior advisor at HHS/ASPR in Washington DC, focused on the distribution of COVID therapeutics and helping drive a pediatric-focused response agenda.
